Θάνος Μπαλφούσιας

After 25 years of professional experience, from which 21 in Cement Industry, 1 in shipyards and 3 in wood manufacturing industry, all of them in the maintenance and production dpts, I can undertake any challenging technical project in industrial applications.

In the beginning of my career I have worked as production engineer and manager in an automated wood manufacturing company.
This was followed by one year experience in Hellenic Shipyards as a site manager for the electrical installation of a Hellenic Marine war ship, but my will to work in heavy industry lead me to Titan cement in 2004. In Titan I have started as maintenance engineer in Elefsis plant. Two years later I was promoted to mechanical maintenance mngr in Patras plant, where I stayed for six years. In 2012 I was promoted to technical mngr of the cement plant Titan Group in Kossovo and in October 2018 I was reallocated as the technical manager of Alexandria plant in Egypt. In May 2021 I was promoted to manufacturing manager of the plant, responsible for production, maintenance and new projects.

In July 2021 I was repatriated and promoted to take the position of OHS Director of the Greek region. (3 Cement plants, 1 Grinding plant, 28 Ready mix plants, 14 quarries)

Since July 2024 I was appointed the position of Plant Director in Patras cement plant, an old plant with considerable amount of equipment and very challenging surrounding.

The job in the cement plant , requires 24/7 availability , ability to work under pressure and meet strict timetables within approved budgets ensuring H&S and environmental efficiency.
