Jan Stoker

Founder SSAMM

Jan Stoker is Strategic Advisor for Asset & Maintenance Management at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management in the Netherlands. Over more than three decades he has built a career that bridges practice, research and education in the field of asset and maintenance management. He is the founder of SSAMM and SSAMM Academy, Visiting Fellow and Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University (UK), Chair of the European Training Committee of the EFNMS, and an active member of the EU Community of Practice on Asset Management. In addition to his extensive professional background, Jan has dedicated many years to academia, teaching in Master of Engineering programmes and mentoring professionals. He holds two master’s degrees (MSc and MEng) in Asset & Maintenance Management and was the first registered CAMA-certified assessor in the Netherlands through WPiAM. For almost ten years, he has conducted PhD research, advancing knowledge on asset management systems, standards and best practices. Jan is recognised internationally as an authority on the ISO 55000:2024 series, CEN/TC 319 standards, and methodologies such as RCM and OEE. He is the author of Sustainable Asset Management and the creator of the Asset Management BowTie and the Maintenance Landscape Model, with a focus on integrating Industry 5.0, digitalisation and human-centric design into future-proof asset management.
